Article of Honda R&D Technical Review Vol.28 No.2

Summary

The PIONEER 1000 was developed to serve as a flagship model for the PIONEER series in the North American market for Side by Side vehicles, also known as recreational off-highway vehicles. Three-passenger and five-passenger types are made available, both applying a new 999 cm3 parallel-twin engine, the largest in the Side by Side market, and for the first time in the Side by Side market a dual clutch transmission. These are built with a common platform and have excellent versatility, function and durability deriving from the numerous technologies applied. It is a model that presents an enhanced appeal within Honda’s multi-category PIONEER series that is popularly used for various purposes such as recreational activities and practical work.
