“Statistical Tire Model” Identified from Data Group of Multiple Tires
Article of Honda R&D Technical Review Vol.24 No.1
Summary
A statistical tire model has been developed. This tire simulation model is for use in the feasibility study of performance design at the initial stage of vehicle development. Using this method, existing data sets for the performance and characteristics of multiple tires are statistically modeled. The model is available to estimate values for tire performance and characteristics based on the input values for specifications such as tire size. By contrast with conventional tire models, the statistical tire model is able to estimate the characteristics of multiple tires of differing sizes and specifications using a single model without the measurement and modeling of data for each single tire.
